Changes to ATY Curriculum

Beginning in the Fall semester of 2019, the Department of Anthropology will offer ATY 363 (History of Anthropological Theory) and ATY 495 (Contemporary Issues in Anthropology) during both Fall and Spring semesters.  This change in scheduling is the happy result of the recent growth in the number of majors in our department. Scheduling these two core classes twice a year allows us to keep their enrollments down to 20 per semester.

Students will need to take 363 BEFORE they are allowed to enroll in 495, and in most cases should take 363 during their sophomore or junior year.

ATY 495 is only open to seniors.

Please speak to your faculty advisor in the Anthropology Department if you are unclear on how these changes affect your 4 year plan.
