Publications by Lab Members

• Undergraduate student researcher Cory Henderson (2017) coauthored a paper with Robert Anemone and several other coauthors entitled Taking Virtual Anthropology to the Field: Developing Three Dimensional Digital Outcrop Models (3D-DOMS) of Fossil Localities. It will be published by the University of New Mexico Press as part of an edited volume entitled New Geospatial Approaches Within Anthropology, edited by RL Anemone and GC Conroy.

Presentations by Lab Members

• Robert Anemone and Jordan Crowell presented Three Dimensional Virtual Reconstruction of a Coryphodon Maxilla from the Eocene of Wyoming at the 77th annual meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on August 24th, 2017.

• Undergraduate student researchers and Anthropology majors Cory Henderson (2017) and Jordan Crowell (2018) will be presented their research at the Southern Conference Undergraduate Research Forum (SURF) and the State of North Carolina Research and Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS) during the Fall 2016 semester. Jordan’s title is A Geometric Morphometric Analysis of the Shoulder of Homo naledi, and Cory discussed Patterns of Hominin Landuse and Raw Material Procurement in the Paleo-Olduvai Basin, Tanzania.   SNCURCS will took place at North Carolina Central University in Durham on Saturday November 5, while SURF was held at Wofford University in Spartanburg, SC on Saturday October 29th, 2016.

• Lab Director Robert Anemone presented New Geospatial Approaches in Paleoanthropology Fieldwork at the Mid-Atlantic Bioanthropology Interest Group meetings in Richmond, Va on October 15th, 2016.

Dr. Anemone Edits New Book on Geospatial Anthropology

• Along with Dr. Glenn Conroy from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Robert Anemone recently edited a volume entitled New Geospatial Approaches Within Anthropology, to be published in 2017 by the University of New Mexico Press.  The volume is the results of an Advanced Seminar held in April 2016 at The School for Advanced Studies (SAR), in Santa Fe, and co-organized by Anemone and Conroy.  This Advanced Seminar brought together 10 leading practitioners of geospatial approaches within Anthropology to discuss their cutting-edge work.
